Rules and Policies of the Sanctuary Lodge LLC

 
Cleaning: We follow best practices promulgated by the American Hotel and Lodging Association (www.ahla.com/safestay) for cleaning and maintaining the Lodge during COVID-19.

Taxes: Michigan State use tax is 6% and applies to all guest stays.

Smoking: Per Michigan State Law, the Sanctuary Lodge LLC provides a non-smoking environment for the comfort of our guests. Smoking is not permitted on the premises of the Sanctuary Lodge LLC. Evidence of smoking in the units will result in a $300 cleaning charge.

Check-in/check-out: unless other arrangements are made, check-in is at 4:00pm and check-out is at 11:00am.

Rates: Price vary by unit. The maximum occupancy is 2 people per bedroom (or sofa beds). Rates are subject to change without notice. A two-night minimum stay is required when booking the whole house.

Deposit: A deposit of one-night stay is required to hold your reservation. In exchange, we remove your unique room from all marketing and from our availability calendar.

Pets: For the safety of all our guests, pets are not permitted. Evidence of pets in the units will result in a $300 cleaning fee.

Children: Children are welcome but subject to parental supervision at all times. Please advise us at the time of booking if your party includes children.

Cancellations: When a guest makes a reservation for a stay at the Sanctuary Lodge LLC we agree to turn away all other requests for the unit you select and you agree to pay the rate quoted for the number of days you reserve. Because of our size, location and demand for our units, cancellations affect us significantly. Therefore, we adhere to a strict cancellation policy.

Important Changes Per April 20th, 2020: By now, we can expect all of our guests are well aware of the risk of further CoronaVirus spread, and as such, the risk they are taking when making new reservations. Therefore, all new reservations made as of April 20th, 2020 will be held to our standard cancellation policy. Our standard cancellation policy is detailed below.

We require 10 days’ notice prior to arrival for a refund of the deposit less a $25 cancellation fee. Within 10 days a refund of 50% of the deposit will be received. Any cancellation within 72 hours of the arrival date will result in the guest being held financially responsible for the entire stay. Day of arrival cancellations, no shows and early departures are liable for the entire stay. For reservations made through a third party (for example VRBO), please refer to their policy. Changing dates within 10 days of your reserved dates falls within our cancellation policy and the same policy stated above will apply. Although we try to be as accommodating as possible we cannot be responsible for unused nights due to late or canceled airline flights, family emergencies, threat of bad weather and other travel-related mishaps or for changes in plans which shorten your stay. Vacation Insurance is available from several providers online to inexpensively protect you against unexpected events.

Acceptable forms of payment are Paypal, Square, Zelle, wire transfers, or in some cases (with prior authorization) by check. While around the house, stay on mowed grass. Stay away from the dam adjacent to the property.

No parties allowed.

Playing music is allowed inside the house at acceptable volumes. If you are outside the building after 10 PM, be quiet and respect our neighbors. Otherwise, move inside.

No fishing or hunting on property.

No kayaking, canoeing, boating, or swimming in the pond or Silver Creek.

Do not move the fire pit.
